about the guys

JIM MUNSON--LEAD VOCALS, KEYS
"Music was his life, it was not his livelihood. And it made him feel so happy, and it made him feel so good. And he sang from his heart,
and he sang from his soul. He did not know how well he sang. It just made him whole."--Harry Chapin, from the song "Mr Tanner"
This is Jim's dream project. He's been singing since he was 2, though his earliest known recording is not until age 5, a powerful
rendition of "My Way." Despite his father's encouragement to be the next Tom Jones, Jerry Vale, or (heavens forbid) Elvis, Jim
discovered (at age 8) the music that would affect his life --he heard "Rich Girl" on the radio. Of course, his mom immediately made him
change the station (such vulgarity)! Since that time, he has been a big fan of Daryl Hall & John Oates' music.
Jim studied viola and voice all through his public school education, even getting to perform at Lincoln Center at age 12! But when he
saw Daryl Hall performing "Art of Heartbreak" live in concert (on HBO in 1983), he saw the type of musical performance that he had to
be part of.
Jim's been in numerous bands, from Long Island (where he grew up) to Connecticut (where he currently resides), and everytime had to
practically beg the other members just to sneak in one or two Hall & Oates songs. Happily, he came across Darren Stec about 3 years
ago, an outstanding CT musician who was also a fan of Daryl & John. They finally got to working together in mid-2005, and this is the
fruit of their labor.
Jim is happily married, and he & his wife are very proud parents of a wonderful child!
DARREN J. STEC--KEYS/SAX/FLUTE/GUITAR/VOCALS
Darren saw early in life that musicians get the girls, and wanted in on some of that action. He started out in school playing flute. He
soon found out that other kids loved to beat the living tar out of a boy flute player. Darren quickly turned to alto and tenor sax - he
could still get chicks and not get beat up...yet he wanted more.
Darren has also been in some spectacular bands like Funky Espresso and Tyrone Shoelaces that spectacularly almost made it and
spectacularly failed and broke up.
He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees between jamming. In addition to gigging, he is a middle school music teacher in
Stamford, CT. Although he has developed a tremendous coffee habit and reads the Boston Globe and New York Times everyday, not
much has changed since Darren was eleven years old. He still tells dirty jokes, he still can't wait until baseball spring training and he's
STILL playing "One On One" - but his wife won't let him take any more phone numbers!
His wife, Heather, is currently in love with Daryl Hall, but still thinks John Oates is the most underrated musician ever.
Darren's favorite H&O song: I Can't Go For That
Heather's favorite H&O song: I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) - See? She always has to correct him!
JEFF MEYER--BASS
Jeff has been playing the bass, as well as a little guitar and mandolin for some 36 years (yikes)! His musical tastes are diverse, and
he has involved himself in numerous musical projects of different genres, both in Connecticut where he resides and California
where he sometimes spends time.
He has toured on the National blues circuit with the Johnny Rawls Blues Review and has worked with a variety of artists, both known
and unknown, including The New Riders of The Purple Sage, Vince Lynn (Jackie Chan's co-star, a martial artist and jazz pianist), and
Alturas (music of Central America).
He currently shares his life with Mae and makes his living running a home & pet care and pet relocation business. His friends say
he's gone to the dogs. Maybe so, but he's better for it.
FRANK AULENTI--PERCUSSION, VOCALS
